As a cloth diapering and a working mother it can be difficult to find the diapers that work best for my little one and are friendly enough that the daycare staff is not going to panic. I am lucky to have a daycare that is “cloth diapering” friendly. I have discovered, however, that cloth diapering friendly does not necessarily mean cloth diapering experienced. Making cloth diapering as easy as possible for daycare, grandma, and daddy is a personal goal of mine (it allows little room for the “I can’t” excuse).
I recently purchased a Blissful Booty cloth diaper. I had wanted to try one of these as I had heard nothing but great things about their diapers and other baby care products.
Let me just tell you… I love this diaper!!!
Positives:
First – I noticed about this diaper when I received it in the mail was how incredibly soft it was. I couldn’t wait to get this soft little padding on Acrobat Baby’s bum.
Second - Short the prep time was. One wash for prep… that’s it. Great for me because I was so eager to try it!
Third – No Leaks! The short prep time actually made me a little weary because the tale goes “the more you wash, the more absorbent.” The Blissful Booty diaper was great from the get-go.
Fourth – The diaper has inner gussets. The inner gussets help keep the “extra” stuff in.
Fifth – Day care AND grandma friendly! My daycare just loves this diaper. They put list it as one of their top twos! (I send about 10 different types to daycare every other day.)
Sixth – The diaper is an All-In-One - meaning it requires no stuffing. Once dirty, rinse, wash, rinse, rinse and put right back on. This makes it easy on Grandma or Daddy when Mommy isn’t available.
Less than positive:
First – the Velcro tabs, although wonderful, tend to come undone. This is not the thick scratchy Velcro that come on most hook and loop diapers. I actually prefer snaps, but to make it easier for daycare I like the Velcro. I have to make sure Acrobat Baby wears bloomers with this diaper to keep it on.
Second – as of right now, they only come in two colors. (I believe they are working on releasing more colors.)
Third – (for me) Blissful booty diapers are only available as a fitted. This is a take or leave sort of thing. Without it being readily available in stores, guessing the correct size was a little difficult. I bought my daughter a large based on her weight, but probably should have gone with a medium.
For me the positives far outweigh the “less than positives”. I highly recommend the Blissful Booty cloth diapers to anyone cloth diapering their little one. They offer several other products that I am eager to try including wipe solution, wet bags, and rash ointment. Out of the fourteen different types of cloth I have Blissful Booty falls in my top four. Blissful Booty diapers are daycare/grandma approved, Daddy popular, and Mommy loved.
